The short version
We keep as little as we can. A grown-up's email, the first names of their children so Darius can say them, and whether their plan is active. We never ask for a child's surname, photo, birthday or school, we never show adverts, and we never sell or share anyone's details.
What we keep and why
- Your email: to sign you in with a code, and to send you reminders about your free trial and plan.
- Your children's first names (up to 4): only to make the stories, so Darius can say the name. We make the sentences with the name in them once, using voice technology, keep them so the story plays quickly next time, and delete them if you remove the name.
- Your plan: Stripe, our payment provider, holds your card details. We never see or store your card number. We keep your plan type and dates so the right stories open for you.
- A name typed into the free sample on the homepage is sent to us only to make Darius's short hello with that name in it. We keep that short recording so the same name plays quickly next time, but it isn't linked to you, your email or your device. Your browser also remembers the name on your own device so you don't have to type it again.
- Gifts: if you buy a gift, we keep your email (to send you the gift code), the child's first name, the "from" name and the message you write for the card, so we can show them on the gift. Stripe holds the payment details.
Who helps us
Stripe (payments), Supabase (accounts, stored in London), ElevenLabs (the voice technology that makes Darius say your child's name), Vercel (hosting the website) and Google (sending our emails, such as your sign-in codes and reminders, from info@thewizardverse.com). Each only gets what it needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
While you have an account. Remove a child's name any time from My account. To delete your whole account, email info@thewizardverse.com and we'll delete everything within 30 days, apart from payment records the law says we must keep.
Children
The stories are made for children to listen to, but accounts are for grown-ups only. The listening pages have no adverts, no tracking and no way for a child to share anything.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing info@thewizardverse.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
